Books & Bites: Looking for Jane
The next Books & Bites features the novel Looking for Jane by Heather Marshall. The discussion will be moderated by Karen Feinblatt and be held over Zoom.
This “clever and satisfying” (Associated Press) #1 international bestseller follows three women who are bound together by a long-lost letter, a mother’s love, and a secret network of women fighting for the right to choose—inspired by true stories.
“Looking for Jane is “a searing, important, beautifully written novel about the choices we all make and where they lead us—as well as a wise and timely reminder of the difficult road women had to walk not so long ago.” – Kristin Harmel, New York Times bestselling author.

This is a novel that uses as its backdrop the real-life network of abortion providers – the Janes – from the early 1970s. Their story was the subject of our Movies and More discussion last year on The Janes. There is another movie on this topic titled Call Jane with Elizabeth Banks and Sigourney Weaver. Both movies are available on various streaming services.
