Mitzvah-in-a-Minute: Diaper Drive 2023
Babies require up to a dozen diapers a day – that’s $70 to $80 dollars a month. One in three families in New Jersey, and one in two families nationally, cannot afford diapers to keep a baby or toddler dry, clean and healthy. More and more older adults also require diapers to address health issues.
September is National Diaper Need Awareness Month, and we are once again holding a Diaper Drive in conjunction with National Diaper to collect baby diapers (all sizes, but the most needed are 4, 5, and 6), baby wipes and rash cream, and adult diapers. All items must be new and unopened.
We welcome donations from anyone – NCJW/Essex members and non-members alike! Shop locally OR visit our Amazon Wish List to purchase items. When ordering from Amazon, please remember to select NCJW/Essex Diaper Drive as the delivery address, and be sure to include your name so we can properly thank you for your donation!
DROP OFF: We will be at the OVAL in front of the NCJW/Essex Office (70 South Orange Ave., Livingston) on Wednesday, September 27 from 10 am and 11 am and Thursday, September 28 from 1 pm to 2 pm to collect these items.
If you can’t make it during those times, please drop off diapers, cream or wipes at the NCJW/Essex office any time between Tuesday, September 26 and Thursday, September 28. The office is open from 9 am – 5 pm.
Donations will be distributed to local agencies, including the Interfaith Pantry of the Oranges.
Please add your name and email to the registration list if you plan to participate in the Diaper Drive. We want to be able to thank you properly for your donation!
