A Walking and Eating Tour of the Lower East Side
Calling all foodies!!
Join us for a delightful and delectable guided stroll through Manhattan’s Lower East Side, best known for having once been a center of Jewish culture. We will view historic synagogues and nosh on delicacies from the best kosher-style delis and bakeries in the city.
This three-hour guided walking tour includes tastings at several well-known establishments, giving you a sample of some of the most mouth-watering food in this area of the city. Along the way, we will also learn about the culture and history of the neighborhood.
The tour begins at Katz’s Deli on East Houston Street and typical stops include Russ and Daughters, Kossar’s Bialys, The Pickle Guys, Economy Candy, Aranchini Bros. at Essex Market, the Doughnut Plant and more.
If there is enough interest, transportation to New York from the NCJW/Essex office and back may be arranged for an additional cost. Please indicate your interest in the notes section when registering and we will follow up or call the office at 973-740-0588 to let us know.

REGISTRATION FEE: $95 per person includes all food at each tasting; Chai Circle members at the Compassionate Level and above do not have a registration fee.
